If you grew up in the Swansea, Fall River area, then more than likely you went to Lincoln Park, in North Dartmouth, MA, as a kid. I know I did and still have some very fond memories of it. Did you know that it was built in the 1890’s and was the end of the trolley line back then? Much of the ‘amusement’ parts of it didn’t happen until the 30’s and 40’s and the park lasted into the 70’s. Below is a link to a site that has an interactive aerial view of the park along with some nice color photos and the names of the various rides and buildings. (Remember the ‘Million Dollar Ballroom’?) The second link is a bit more sad and somber. It is a slideshow/movie of the park as it exists today. The black and white photos and background music set a tone of stark contrast to the joy and fun the park once glorified and celebrated.
